Leading up to the UK release and starting last Friday, there will be 12 daily posts on our cool upcoming release “Armada 2526”. This deep hybrid ‘4x’ strategy game, from developer Shining Pixel Studios (lead by Bob Smith, known from the Total Wars series), continues the great tradition of space opera games.

You guide your race from its first interstellar journeys until it becomes a mighty galactic empire. Along the way, you’ll explore the galaxy, conduct research, diplomacy and trade with the other races, found new colonies, maneuver mighty star fleets, and fight epic battles.

There are twelve different races, with each race possessing a distinct set of racial traits. Each race has at least one faction - some have more, each bearing a close resemblance to the main strain of their race but often possessing slightly different traits or victory conditions.


In these posts the twelve different races are going to be revealed, especially for you! This handy information helps you to prepare yourself for trading with the different races and spotting weaknesses and strengths in order to achieve the ultimate goal of galactic dominance!

CHAPTER 5: the JELLUTIONS

The Jellutions are unusual among the intelligent races, in that they are soft-bodied, and evolved under water, although they can also survive in air.

At some point in their history, they discovered the benefits of conducting chemistry and mineral extraction on dry land, and later in dry under water chambers, and were thus able to create a technologically advanced society. Nevertheless, many processes are more difficult to carry out under water, and this caused them to lean towards philosophy, deep thinking, and thought experiments. Maybe that explains their large heads?

They are generally friendly and peaceful, but believe that attack is the best form of defense, and this is reflected in their warships which are heavily armed, but a little light on protection...

Among the Jellutions there is a group called ‘The Thinkers’. The Thinkers are a group of Jellution Scientists and Philosophers who have founded their own colony to pursue their interest. They are also not aggressive or warlike, but nor are they friendly to outsiders. Their only interest is the pursuit of knowledge.
